Ballina Shire Council will reopen Angels Beach Drive on Wednesday 22 June after completing curve correction works to improve motorist safety.

Stage 3 of the Angels Beach Drive upgrade has commenced and will include the construction of a roundabout at the Angels Beach Drive and Links Avenue intersection.

The initial phase of Stage 3 works will be carried out behind the existing kerb and gutter and will result in minimal disruption to motorists.

As the roundabout construction progresses, traffic control will increase and motorists may experience some delays. However no long term road closures will be required, meaning full access will be available to the East Ballina Shopping Centre and Southern Cross School.

It is expected, all going well with the weather and construction, that works will be completed by early August.

The Roads and Maritime Service (RMS) identified Angels Beach Drive as a black spot and allocated $2 million to the upgrade.

Council thanks motorists for their patience and understanding as these necessary safety works are completed.

Further information on the construction works can be viewed on Council’s website: www.ballina.nsw.gov.au
