We are pleased to announce that the finishing touches of Stage Two of Angels Beach Drive are underway with it set to open the week commencing Monday 20 June (weather permitting).

Council’s Construction Coordinator, Mr Paul Crozier said “the stage two works included a curve correction to the road north-east of Prospect Bridge to improve motorist safety. We also just want to acknowledge the impact the road closure has had on motorists, and thank them for their patience. We realise that the impact has been worse this week due to extra traffic on The Coast Road due to other regional roads affected by floodwaters.”

Council has now received a permit from the NSW Government to commence Stage Three of the project, which consists of the construction of roundabout at Angels Beach Drive and Links Avenue. During this stage, Council will endeavour to limit traffic delays to motorists by ensuring the road is open during construction with traffic control in place.

The Roads and Maritime Service (RMS) identified Angels Beach Drive as a black spot and allocated $2 million to the upgrade.

Council wishes to thank the community for their patience during these construction works while entire sections of Angels Beach Drive were closed to allow construction works to be completed sooner. The reduced construction period also means cost savings to Council and the community.

Further information on the construction works will be made available on Council’s website: www.ballina.nsw.gov.au
